While denim remains a primary component of global fashion at every price point, don’t let its ubiquity and casual vibe fool you. According to environmental and workplace safety experts, denim conceals behind its iconic blue fabric a host of toxic chemical pollutants and processes, as well as gross water overuse, all of which degrade the environment and put workers and communities at risk.

That’s denim as it’s been produced over the past several hundred years.

However, the past decade or so has witnessed a surge in “responsible denim” that echoes other industries’ shifts toward safer, more circular products that meet new stakeholder expectations, and concern on the part of consumers, as well as new regulations that have followed.

The Taubenfligel siblings – Mark, Adam, and Ania – exemplify this paradigm shift. They started their family company, Triarchy, in 2011 as a direct-to-consumer women’s jeans brand. The idea was to leverage their skillsets in design, production, and marketing to produce something genuinely new and deeply responsible to the crowded denim category.

The newest True Religion store is located at the upscale shopping mall Select CITYWALK in Saket

Bengaluru: American denim and lifestyle brand True Religion has launched its latest store in New Delhi at Select CITYWALK, Saket, one of the city’s premier luxury shopping destinations, a press release said on Monday.

This milestone marks the brand’s third store in India, following its successful debut at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, and a second store at Palladium Mall in Lower Parel, Mumbai.

“India has a deepening passion for denim, and we’re excited to meet that demand with a store that’s designed for true denim lovers,” said Apoorv Sen, COO, Iconic Fashion, at True Religion. “Saket is the ideal location to bring our authentic American DNA to a fashion-forward audience that appreciates quality and individuality.”

True Religion entered the Indian market in partnership with Iconic India in May this year. The brand is already available in India through its exclusive offline stores and various online retailers, including Myntra, Iconic India, and Tata CLiQ Luxury.

Recently, True Religion made its digital debut in India with the launch of its official e-commerce website. The digital storefront will serve as the brand’s official online presence in India, featuring exclusive product drops, curated edits, and a seamless shopping experience tailored for the Indian audience.​
